Hello boys,

In this video, we will learn how to sing the song "Treasure Quest."

Some boys could not attend the Google Classroom today. So, kindly go through the video and learn the song.

I am providing two versions of the song: one is the action and the second one is the lyrics.

Action

Lyrics

Lyrics
Does your heart get pumpin'You feet get jumpin'
Are you spending all your time
On a treasure quest
Your heart won't rest
'Til you have what looks so fine
Climbing to the top
Tell me, will it ever stop

[Chorus:]
Jesus said to live
Give and give and give
And store your treasure
In heaven where it lasts forever
Jesus said to live
Give and give and give
Store your treasure
In heaven where it lasts forevermore

Week 6 - The Obedience Song (Class 3)

Welcome boys to the Western Music class. I hope you're having a great day.

Today we will learn about obedience from a song called "Obedience"

First, listen to the song below and after you have learned it you can sing along with the video that I provide below.

Lyrics:

Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe
Doing exactly as the Lord commands, doing it happily
Action is the key, do it immediately, joy you will receive
Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe

O-B-E-D-I-E-N-C-E
Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe

We want to live pure, we want to live 'clean, we want to do our best
Sweetly submitting to authority, leaving to God the rest
Walking in the light, keeping our attitude right, on the narrow way
For if we believe the Word we receive, we always will obey

O-B-E-D-I-E-N-C-E
Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe

Now that you have heard the song, you can sing along with the video below:

Did you have fun singing the song? I hope you all become smart and obedient boys after learning the song.

Please don't forget to mark your attendance.

Welcome Dear Children,

Let's learn a song called
"On Mother's Day"

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
“I’ve got something special for Mother’s Day
To thank you for the love that you give me every day
It’s just a little heart, but it says all that I can say
And it’s just for you on Mother’s Day"

[Verse 2]
I put my hands together, this is how I start
I curve my fingers around so they make a heart
And I blow it like a kiss and I send it your way
And it’s just for you on Mother’s Day

[Verse 3]
I’ve got something special for Mother’s Day
To thank you for the love that you give me everyday
It’s just a little heart but it says all that I can say
And it’s just for you on Mother’s Day

And it’s just for you on Mother’s Day

Remember, 10th May 2020, Sunday: Don't forget to wish your mother "Happy Mother's Day"

This week we're going to learn a new song. It's about you and me. We all carry the light of goodness in our hearts. Let us continue to shine in the world with the light we have within us.

This Little Light Of Mine

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine.
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Everywhere I go,
I'm gonna let it shine.
Everywhere I go,
I'm gonna let it shine.
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

This much is in the song you've heard above in the video.

Now, let us also try singing the following lines without music and see if you can follow.

Hide it under a bushel, no!
I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel, no!
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine

Week 1 - Lesson #1 - Do Re Mi

Dear children,

Welcome to the first lesson of the academic year. Congrats to all of you for having made it thus far! So, let's maintain a proper notebook for our Western Music class this year and cover it nicely in RED. Write the lyrics (words) of all the songs that are uploaded here each week. Write proper titles of the song with date. I will check your notebooks when we resume school.

Note to parents: please note the changes made in the post. Since there is no assigned notebooks for Western Music, please do not write down the songs in any notebook. Refer to this lesson/blog for the song lyrics. As much as possible, kindly make your children learn and memorise the songs given in each lesson. You must also have received the syllabus booklet. All the songs are already there in the booklet under the Western Music curriculum. Kindly refer to the same.

You must have seen this lesson last week. Now, I want you to really learn the song by heart and sing it confidently.

Learning outcome:
  1. Learning Do-Re-Mi (solfege)
  2. Learning the song Do-Re-Mi from the Sound of Music

Do-Re-Mi is the building block of all Western music vocal singing. In Indian classical music, the first notes begin with Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa-Dha-Ni-Sa. In Western classical music it is Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do. These eight notes are called "Tonic Sol-fa" or "Solfège". Do Re Mi or ‘Tonic Sol-fa’ is a traditional and very effective way to teach the concept of intervals and the sound of each note of the scale. It helps build an understanding of how to pitch notes and know how they should sound.

If you have a piano at home, or have access to a piano, or have seen a piano, this is how Do-Re-Mi looks like in the *scale of C* (scales is for a later time; you don't have to worry about that for now).

Listen to the video below to hear how it sounds like. Lesson: Learn it by heart.

Next, after we learn the solfege by heart, we will move on to learn the song Do-Re-Mi.

✋Check! Have you learned Do-Re-Mi yet? 👆 If not, first learn it by heart before proceeding.

Additionally, you may also watch the original video song from the movie The Sound of Music.

Remember kids, Do-Re-Mi is your A-B-C of music. If you don't learn them by heart, you will not be able to sing effectively.

So, today's lesson (and for this week is)
1. Learn the solfege (Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do) by heart in the correct tune
2. Learn the song

Play this interactive virtual piano now
Beginning from the Grey Dot, click on all the white bars (keys) I-O-P-Z-X-C-V-B -- That is your Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do. Try it now. (The virtual piano will open in a new tab/page).

Send me a thumbs up 👍 in the comment section below if you've seen this lesson. Write your Name, Class with section and Roll No.
